Frequently asked
questions
Custom work is priced by piece, not hourly. After your consultation we provide a flat quote based on size, detail, and placement. Most small custom pieces start at $250; sleeves and large work are quoted by project.
Yes — every custom tattoo at Bewitched starts with a free consultation. It's the only way to ensure the design, scale, and timeline actually fit you. Consultations can be in person or virtual.
Walk-ins are accepted only when our schedule allows and are usually limited to flash or small pre-drawn pieces. Custom work always requires a booked appointment.
A non-refundable deposit secures your appointment and is applied to the final cost of your tattoo. Deposits are collected through Square when you book. Reschedules with 72-hour notice retain your deposit.
Sleep well, drink water all week, and eat a substantial meal 1–2 hours before your session. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior. Wear comfortable clothing that exposes the area being tattooed and brings something to keep yourself occupied during long sessions.
You'll receive both verbal and written aftercare instructions. The first 24 hours involve a protective bandage; the following two weeks involve gentle cleaning and fragrance-free moisturizing. We're available by text throughout your healing.
Small custom pieces are usually 1–3 hours. Half sleeves typically run 2–4 sessions; full sleeves 5–10. We'll give you a session estimate during your consultation.
Absolutely — references are encouraged. Bring as many as you'd like. John will use them as a starting point and design something completely original around your concept.
