Considered palettes, not rainbow chaos
Most color tattoos that age poorly do so because they were over-saturated with too many competing colors. Our approach is the opposite: tight palettes of two to five colors that work together, anchored by strong black structure. The pieces stay graphic and bold as they settle.
Neo-traditional and illustrative color
Color at Bewitched gravitates toward neo-traditional, illustrative, and Japanese-influenced work — styles where color is structural to the design, not decorative. We're happy to do new school or watercolor work as well but will be honest about what does and doesn't age well.
Pigment quality matters
We use professional-grade pigments from manufacturers with documented stability over decades. Cheap inks fade, shift, and blow out. Ours don't.
Session structure
Color sessions run slightly longer than black and grey for equivalent pieces because of layering. Plan on 4–5 hours for a forearm piece and 6+ hours for back of arm or thigh work.
Aftercare for color tattoos
Color requires the same aftercare as any other style with one addition: aggressive sun protection for the life of the tattoo. UV exposure is the single biggest factor in color fading.
